Art of Life- Craft of Life

Today I am going to write about one of my Crafts teacher – "Mrs. Chandana Mitra"
She did her schooling from D.V. Girls’ High School CRJ and is now working in the same school as craft teacher, she is one of the few students of the school who continued their professional endeavor with the same school.

Mrs.Chandana Mitra

Art and craft as content or subject during our school days is always taken for granted for children in formal education, our education system emphasizes only towards including it in subject list to increase your average percentage by scoring some good marks.

But while doing this we forget about one basic thing, if this subject can improve our total score and increase our percentage why it can’t increase your income? Or why it can’t help you have an alternative source of income. Our mere ignorance for these subjects or let me say field of excellence has thrown it in dark, our generation has missed on exploring this deep sea of opportunity.

One of my Creation from my school time, which I learned in my Craft Class

One of the best qualities I remembered of her was her nature and way of handling kids who were not interested in doing their home-work or class work related to her subject, I don’t remember if she ever scolded anyone for not submitting the assignments.

Somewhere somehow she knew the perfect way of keeping herself motivated, never allowing other subject teachers to take over her sessions and enjoying every possible moment with her students.

Now we are grown up and we are busy with our professional responsibilities, we go shopping in malls or decorated markets we see so many different items costing from dust to fortunes, I kind of connect it with the classes I ignored during my school days some time I think that how and why these subjects are very much vital for our educational system, and how much money people are making by using these skills which our society considers as useless???
It’s a question worth giving a thought!!!

Dedicated this post to you ma’am… and every other arts and crafts teacher in our country where the least importance is given to such important subjects and skills.
